Strawberry Banana Smoothie

I love smoothies.  I love meals that you can drink.  They are super convenient and healthy when you are on the go.  If I can be honest with you, I don’t really like sitting down to eat sometimes.  You know, you get busy or you are doing something really interesting and eating is the last thing that you want to do.  Smoothies are great for times just like those.  They are quick and nutritious.  They are perfect on hot summer days too!  Strawberries are an excellent source of vitamin C and K.  They are high in antioxidants and dietary fiber as well.  That’s why smoothies are so healthy for you.  You could easily substitute other berries for the strawberries if you like or add a variety of them.

Ingredients

1/2 cup ice cubes

1/2 cup skim milk powder

1 cup vanilla yogurt

1 cup water

1 1/2 cups strawberries

1 banana

To Prepare the Smoothies

Place the ice cubes in a blender and pulse until they are crushed.  Add the remaining ingredients to the blender and blend until smooth.  Divide into glasses for serving.
