Sweet n' Salty Cookies

Sweet n' Salty Cookies

I really wasn’t lying when I said it’s been a cookie extravaganza here.  I have all sorts of cookies in the making and almost ready for baking.  Seriously.  These are a great cookie!  They can be whatever you want them to be by adding different types of chopped chocolate bars, chopped chocolate and savory snacks, such as potato chips, corn chips and pretzels.  Sounds crazy, right?!  They are highly addictive 🙂

Sweet n’ Salty Cookies

1 cup butter, room temperature

3/4 cup sugar

3/4 cup packed brown sugar

2 eggs

1 teaspoon vanilla

2 1/4 cups flour

1 teaspoon baking soda

1 cup chopped candy-coated chocolate pieces, chocolate, caramels or chocolate bar

1 cup crushed or crumbled savory snacks, such as potato chips, pretzels or Bugles

To Prepare the Cookies

In a large bowl, beat the butter with the sugars until fluffy.  Beat in the eggs, 1 at a time; beat in the vanilla.

Whisk together the flour and baking soda; stir into the butter mixture.  Stir in the chopped chocolate and crumbled snacks.  Drop by 2 tablespoons onto parchment paper-lined baking sheets.

Bake in top and bottom thirds of a 350 F oven, switching and rotating pans half-way through, until golden, about 12 minutes.  Let cool.

If you are a fan of chocolate chip cookies you’ll adore these!  They go really well with a tall glass of cold milk for dipping 🙂
