Christmas Gift Idea ~ Assorted Cookie Tins

I’m sure you’re all thinking the same thing, Christmas, really?!!!!  Yes, Christmas, really!!  Usually I am late with sharing these sort of ideas.  This year I didn’t want to leave you idea-less at the last minute.  I am trying to find all sorts of gifts that you can give that you make, yes, YOU.  I really would like to stress the importance of giving gifts that you make with your own hands.  I believe that it brings an entirely new (or old) meaning to giving.  There is absolutely no denying the fact that when you make a gift for someone you care about you make that gift with all of your love and time.  In general, a homemade gift will be much more appreciated than something that you simply ran to the store to purchase.

Over the last week or so I have been torturing you all with cookies.  This is the reason why 🙂  Finally, the cookie tins are here!  Think about it this way, if you bake one batch of cookies every night for a week you’ll have seven different types of cookies, right?!  Each batch of cookies will only take you about 1 hour to make (unless they need fridge time, but let’s not count that).  What’s an hour?  It’s nothing.  So, if you start now you could have all of your Christmas gifts ready to go next week, which is perfect because there are all sorts of Christmas parties and gathering coming up, do you see what I’m getting at?

Corrugated Paper

Tissue Paper

Assorted Cookies

Brown Butter Babies

Coconut Cream-Filled Macaroons

Sweet n’ Salty Cookies

Chocolate Thumbprints

Maple Pecan Shortbread

Gingersnap Cookies

To Fill the Tin

Line the bottom and sides of a square or rectangular airtight tin with corrugated paper and fold pieces in half for dividers.  Use the tissue paper to wrap cookies that are more delicate, coconut cream-filled macaroons, for example.  How you lay out your tin will depend on the cookies you are filling it with.  For more wonderful packing ideas check out Martha Stewart’s Christmas Cookies: Packaging Ideas.
